Communications & Development Internship: LA
The Global Green USA Communications department is offering an internship for undergraduate or graduate students interested in gaining practical communications experience in climate change, green building, green affordable housing, green schools, and energy policy. Interns participate in a variety of activities that support both organizational and individual development.
Duties:
• Researching and updating environmental initiatives of green building companies
• Background on environmental reporters
• Website imagery
• E-activist and e-newsletter outreach
• Assisting with writing articles
• Event production, research and outreach
• Maintaining and updating databases
• College campus outreach
• Background calls to press
• Writing and potential programming of web and myspace pages
• Creating promotional materials showing green building construction
Eligibility:
Must be at least a junior undergraduate in good standing or a graduate student interested in sustainability, specifically that achieved through green building, environmental policy, urban planning, and related areas. Should have a background in communications. Excellent writing and communication skills, good design skills, able to work independently, attention to detail, the ability to take initiative on specific projects. Computer programming skills a plus. Must be locally based in Los Angeles.
Time Commitment:
Must commit to at least 10 hours a week for a period of 3-6 months. Exact hours to be determined with intern and academic institution.
